We've heard somewhat mixed reviews from friends and neighbors since then, most recently including many raves about how great the buffet had become. We first visited River Rock casino years and years ago, just after they first opened, when it was a small tent, maybe 100 slots, no food, and no alcohol. The casino located about five miles out from major city, Santa Rosa California, so if you can find that, a short ride out of US 128 will take you to the casino. They have the water, soda and juice dispensers and cups, you walk right up get what you want, it's free no cashier. Another thing I like is the self service refreshment bar. Now my favorite part, they do have very high end buffet if you're into that, also they do have a very nice basic affordable buffet, depending on the time of day lunch or dinner ranges from 10 to 15 dollars per person, nonalcoholic drinks included. There is also a section laid out for non-smokers which is great, because in the other casinos I'm enjoying the game and somebody is next to me with a big old cigar or cigarette and chokes me out. The casino itself has the usual table games, but they also have plenty of video poker and slot machines and other mechanical and video games. First things first the have a nice parking lot plus a parking structure so there's never a problem with parking your car.
